Applications for the 19th European Week of Regions and Cities
Preparations for the European Week of Regions and Cities, which will take place from 11 to 14 October 2021 have already begun! During the four-day event, which takes place every year in Brussels, views are exchanged and participants in the field of regional policy are networked. Co-organizers are the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission and the European Committee of the Regions.
How does Athens' sustainable development strategy relate to the "15-minute city?"
The idea of the "15-minute city" first appeared and was developed in 2019 by Carlos Moreno, professor at the Sorbonne and smart-city scientific advisor to the Mayor of Paris. An idea that allows citizens to access their daily urban needs, in just 15 minutes on foot or by bike, in order to improve both living and the environment - all the main activities accommodation, work, supply of goods , education, health or fun - to be done more easily and quickly.
