“Zero-emission mobility for all” the 2020 EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK theme
The 2020 EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK highlights the importance of accessibility to zero-emission transport and promotes an inclusive framework involving everyone.
The theme reflects the ambitious targets of a carbon-neutral continent by 2050, as laid out by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
Despite the different climatic, geographical and socio-economic conditions across Europe’s urban areas, a new common growth strategy that aims to preserve the planet for future generations, can be the compass to emerge from the present COVID-19 crisis and an opportunity to bounce forward accelerating our progresses in meeting the climate change objectives. This strategy will engage all relevant stakeholders toward the common goal.
Therefore, EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2020 encourages people and local authorities to take steps to achieve the long-term goal of a carbon-neutral continent, through the facilitation and the promotion of zero-emission transport.
The Ministry of the Environment and Energy and the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), invite all Greek Municipalities to participate successfully with all safety measures in the events, as the perfect opportunity to test out new forms of clean mobility, take stock of current transport challenges, and progress towards more sustainable mobility for Europe.
