European Week for Waste Reduction 21-29 November 2020
REDUSE – REUSE – RECYCLE
The 12th edition of the EWWR will take place from 21 to 29 November 2020 and will focus on invisible waste.
“Invisible waste” refers to the large amount of waste generated during the manufacturing process of products. Did you know that to
manufacture a smartphone weighing less than 200 grams and coming in a small package, an unbelievable 86 kilograms of waste are produced? With the slogan “What’s your real weight?” the
EWWR challenges you to get informed about the extra kilos we all carry on our shoulders due to unsustainable production and consumption patterns.
It may not look obvious, but there are plenty of actions that we can all take to face this problem. Extending the life of products by reuse and repair, buying
second-hand, renting and sharing products rather than owning them, obtaining an ecolabel and joining producer responsibility’s schemes
EWWR Awards

The Hellenic Recycling Organization E.O.A.N. is the national coordinator of actions in the framework of the European Waste Reduction Week, an initiative of the European Union, which informed the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE), that those interested should organize a specific action, which will focus on the triptych "reduction, reuse and recycling (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) ".
